Timnath Core TOD Master Plan
The Timnath Core Master Plan design is an important component of the larger I-25 Regional Master Plan. The design takes advantage of a seldom used, but operational rail bed bisecting Mian Street Timnath and the town core.
The existing site consists mainly of agricultural fields, open space, and some limited county density residential, commercial, and civic uses. Instead of conglomerating all density along the existing Main Street, disturbing existing homes, businesses, and historic landmarks the plan proposes a new Main Street paralleling a portion of Old Main Street through existing agricultural land.
A new light rail/passenger rail station is positioned at the junction of Old Main Street and the existing rail line with Medium to high density development
occuring within walkable distances
from the core.
